they were targeted deliberately by the syrian regime. syria's government, however, today posted a statement on their syrian news agency website in which they blamed this on the actions of terrorists. that's the terminology they use for rebel fighters, opposition fighters in syria. they say that that town was targeted by terrorists and that because of that residents in that town called for the military, for the syrian military to intervene to help them to bring safety and restore security in that area. again, the residents we speak with clearly blaming the regime, and it's one day later and we hear of an attack on another bakery in the homs area. this is in the last few hours. you mentioned it a few minutes ago. we heard at least 15 killed, several children. very gruesome video. you see the corpse of a woman being pulled from the rubble there. the rage of the residents there about this happening is element indescribable. suzanne. >> is there any way of finding out? you have two very different stories. any way of finding out whether it's an international -- through an international

the way the federal government calculate inflation. which could possibly save the government $300 billion over the next decade if implemented. normally every year, wages and prices go up. the consumer price index, the cpi measures how much they go up by tracking a basket of goods that americans typically buy. it's important, it's used to calculate cost of living adjustments on social security. checks pay a little more each year in line with inflation, as calculated by the cpi. now one potential flaw in the system, cpi assumes people don't change their basket of the price of meat goes up. they don't switch from meat to chicken because the price of beef has gone up. they don't switch from say, arugula to iceberg lettuce, it doesn't account for how behavior changes. chained cpi presents a chained basket of goods, measuring how people react to price changes, not simply the fact that prices have changed. now chained cpi would account for fact that you're buying more chicken when beef is too expensive. that could result in a slower rate of inflation, it saves the government money on tho

attack. the syrian government denies they attack civilians lined up for bread. more and more we hear about these incidents. the past two days we are told first in hama province hundreds of people were lined up. this was the first day on sunday the bakery had been opened, that the town had been liberated a few days before that. there were rebels in there and that's where it was targeted. the syrian government denies having done so. yesterday the very next day in homs province we hear of another bakery under attack. women and children were killed in that attack. terrible news. all playing out against the back drop of more diplomacy. people trying to come to some sort of solution there. it hasn't happen. there is fear more of these attacks will happen in the days and months to come. >> i am assuming the government does have some ability to be able to tell whether or not these are rebel groups or if these are women and children who are simply lined up to get bread. that sounds like an explanation that people really are not buying there. is that accurate, fair to say? >> absolutely. very
